Icotek is now offering cable entry systems combined with fire penetration seals for the railway industry.
The intumescent (foaming) IFPS fire penetration seals are based on expandable graphite and significantly increase their volume at high temperatures. The result is a barrier that prevents the penetration of flames as well as the heat transfer from one room to another, e.g. to protect passengers and staff in rail vehicles against onboard fire incidents.
The IFPS seals are mounted on the back side of the cable entry frame (side facing the potential fire source). The icotek cable entry components with mounted fire penetration seals IPFS are certified with fire barrier classifications E45 and EI30 when mounted on 18 mm fire protection panels, E30 when mounted on 3 mm sheet steel plates (acc. to EN 45545-3 and EN 1363-1).
